Primeira Liga champions FC Porto reportedly want to snatch Olivier Ntcham from Scottish Premiership champions Celtic
After a promising debut season at Celtic, Olivier Ntcham looks to already have taken his game to a new level this season.
The Frenchman became The Hoops’ most expensive signing in a decade when he joined from Manchester City last summer for £4.5 million and that transfer fee is starting to look like a bargain.
Ntcham has already scored two goals in his first six games of the new season and was arguably the best player on the pitch in Celtic’s 1-1 Champions League qualifying draw with AEK Athens, a game they dominated and really deserved to win.
So no wonder he, like so many other of Celtic’s star men over the years, is starting to attract interest from elsewhere.
Ntcham has already been linked with West Ham and Torino and RMC Sport are now claiming that FC Porto have opened talks with the midfielder’s representatives and are hoping to lure him to the Dragao before the end of August.
It is reported that Ntcham’s future will be very uncertain should Celtic fail to reach the knockout rounds of the Champions League. Porto who won the Primeira Liga title last season, have already reserved a place at Europe’s top table for 2018/19.
And it’s fair to say Celtic fans are a little worried.
