Fulham right-back Ryan Fredericks could leave the Championship for the Premier League this summer with West Ham United circling.

Ryan Fredericks might not be the ‘next level’ sort of signing West Ham United fans were promised when they were sold the London Stadium dream, but he is a young, hungry and homegrown talent who has proven himself in the Championship and deserves a chance to step up.

West Ham have been linked with the flying Fulham right-back since February. But with David Moyes travelling to Craven Cottage to watch Fredericks in action in the 2-0 win against Leeds United on Tuesday, it seems that the Hammers are stepping up their pursuit.

The 25-year-old, who started his career at bitter rivals Tottenham, has been one of the most impressive full-backs in the Championship over the last two years. His energy and buccaneering style on the flank makes him a great attacking outlet and, in total, Fredericks has assisted seven league goals this season alone.

So West Ham fans are feeling positive about the prospect of Fredericks making the short trip across the capital, even if signing a soon-to-be out of contract Championship player for free does not exactly smack of ambition.
