Ukrainian outfit Dnipro have set a €10 million asking price for winger Yevhen Knonoplyanka amid fears of losing the winger in the January transfer window, reports claim.
The Ukrainian international has long been linked with a move away from Dnipro, and Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool were said to be extremely close to securing his signature on deadline day last January.
A move to the Premier League ultimately failed to materialise on that occasion, yet the 25-year-old’s dream move is far from a dead rubber as interest in the player remains.
West Ham United are said to have joined the Reds and Spurs in the chase for the player, and a possible transfer this January could be on the cards as a result of his fragile contract situation.
Konoplyanka’s current deal in his native country expires next summer, prompting Dnipro to come up with a contingency plan of trying to offload him for as much as possible in the upcoming winter market.
According to Sky Sports Italia, the Ukrainian outfit have slapped a €10 million asking price on his head amid new interest from Serie A duo Inter and Roma.
“The offensive winger born in 1989 has an expiring contract, and while his current club Dnipro is trying to extend it by offering a substantial annual salary, the player doesn’t appear interested in accepting,” the report states
It continues: “The player’s father has indicated Konoplyanka could be sold in January, in Italy Inter and Roma are the two most interested clubs, but Dnipro is asking for €10 million.”
Konoplyanka is described as a versatile winger with excellent passing, vision and creativity – attributes seemingly fitting for attack-minded sides such as Liverpool and Tottenham.
He has represented his national team on 40 occasions after making his debut in 2010, scoring a credible eight goals from a wide position.
