Luke Molyneux has made two appearances in Sunderland’s League One campaign this season.

Sunderland Under-23s’ key man Luke Molyneux has been key in Premier League 2 so far this season, with some excellent performances for Elliot Dickman’s side.
The 20-year-old has made two appearances for Sunderland’s first-team in the third tier this season, both of which were short stints from the bench against Charlton Athletic and Luton Town.
And based on his showings in different sides last month and in the early parts of September, Molyneux could well be Sunderland’s hidden gem this term.
Molyneux has scored two goals in three appearances with Sunderland’s Under-23s, with the winger’s latest goal coming in a 2-1 win for Dickman’s side against West Brom.
The attacker’s performances in August were rewarded with Molyneux being shortlisted for the player of the month award in Premier League 2.

Sunderland’s first-team manager Jack Ross made some excellent signings this summer, but still does not have the best squad depth out wide.
And Molyneux’s flare, as well as his ability to cut inside and shoot from outside the box could be something that Sunderland find useful, especially with their most creative player Aiden McGeady sidelined with a long-term injury.
