Sunderland currently sit second in the League One table after 16 matches.

Sunderland have had a fantastic season thus far in League One and, aside from a 2-1 loss away to Burton Albion back in September, Jack Ross’s side have generally taken the chances they have created.
Key to converting those chances has been 19-year-old talisman Josh Maja, who has nine goals this term, but the Black Cats still lack a target man in attack.
Gillingham striker Tom Eaves would be ideal for that role. He scored against Sunderland when the sides met at Priestfield Stadium and the Black Cats should make a move in January.
Eaves has bagged 11 goals this term for a Gillingham side who currently sit 17th in the third-tier table and the Liverpool-born striker may consider his options if his team continue to struggle.
In their current league position of second, as well as being one of the favourites to take their place back in the Championship, Sunderland should swoop in for a transfer that would suit both player and club.

The 26-year-old scored the opener against Sunderland when the two sides met back in August, but it was Ross’s side who ran out 4-1 winners on the day.
Despite his side being on the end of a heavy loss, Eaves caused problems throughout the match, with his presence from set pieces something Sunderland have lacked for a number of years.
The Oldham Athletic academy graduate would not be likely to break the bank either, especially in January; making him a perfect fit for Sunderland and a potential strike partner for young Maja.
