Sunderland have had an extremely impressive start to their first season back in League One for 30 years, with Jack Ross’s side currently sat third in the division, three points off the top of the table and with a game in hand.

And preparation will likely begin for life in the Championship in the January transfer window, with the Black Cats hierarchy and manager on the hunt for suitable players for next season.

The current Championship standings see Sunderland’s former competitors Hull City struggling, a side who have some good players – and the Wearside club should look at signing one of their impressive youngsters Jarrod Bowen.

Bowen is a proven striker in the second division and would be the perfect fit for Sunderland, having scored four goals in a Hull team currently in the bottom three of their division.

The young attacker is a proven goal-scorer, having also scored 14 goals last term and would likely be on the hunt for a club in the top two divisions if his current side were to swap places with Ross’s side.

The Hereford academy graduate wouldn’t be likely to break the bank either and would be a huge asset to Ross’s side for the final few months of their League One season in the new year.

Bowen can also play out wide as well as through the middle and would no doubt be attracted to a Sunderland side in a new era and with aspirations of eventually returning to the Premier League, a division the Tigers attacker has previously had a taste of.
