Lee Cattermole has shone in Sunderland’s recent two games, despite being linked with a move away earlier this summer.

Last season’s Scottish manager of the year Jack Ross joined Sunderland in the hope of being the man to spearhead their League One rebuild.
And after an unbeaten start to life in the third tier and two recent wins against promotion rivals Scunthorpe United and Gillingham, all seems well on Wearside.
Sunderland midfielder Lee Cattermole was linked with a move away from the former Premier League side recently and even he has heaped praise on the 42-year-old in an interview with the official club website.
Cattermole when speaking about the new era on Wearside said: “The players and the new boys who have come in, it’s been brilliant and I think that’s down to the manager and the staff. They’ve brought in an enthusiasm and professionalism every day.
“It’s going great, but we need to keep our feet on the ground and keep remembering what makes us a good team, and it’s that work rate.” Cattermole added.

The Sunderland midfielder has been on Wearside for almost ten years and many fans have suggested it was time for Cattermole to move on from the club as the rebuild begins.
But after being handed a start in Sunderland’s recent 4-1 win over Gillingham and 3-0 win over Scunthorpe prior to that, Cattermole seems to have flourished under his new manager.
