Sunderland goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin has now kept three consecutive clean sheets in League One.

Sunderland summer arrival Jon McLaughlin has been nothing short of excellent in recent matches, and the Scotland international has been an integral part of his side’s success this term.
The goalkeeper has been at his best in the last three Black Cats games, keeping three consecutive clean sheets in League One.
And, despite being in eye-catching form, Sunderland manager Jack Ross explained that his stopper will continue to get better this season in an interview with the Sunderland Echo.
When speaking about McLaughlin’s influence, Ross said: “The most pleasing thing is he is now getting those rewards with clean sheets. Defenders and goalkeepers pride themselves on it, his determination to make sure he didn’t concede was evident.
“To have success you need to have a goalkeeper who makes big saves, Jon is that and he will keep getting better and improving with us.”

McLaughlin made two outstanding saves in Sunderland’s 1-0 away win against Doncaster Rovers last week and also impressed against Southend United last weekend, ensuring his side took maximum points in both fixtures.
The 31-year-old’s good form is nothing new, with McLaughlin saving penalty kicks against Fleetwood Town and Bradford City, as well as making some big stops in the other 13 matches thus far.
