Sunderland have had an excellent summer transfer window, evident in their unbeaten start in their new League One campaign.

Jack Ross made some shrewd signings that give the Black Cats a strong chance of promotion, but still need to offload two of their want-away players, Papy Djilobodji and Didier Ndong.

And after Sunderland’s recent 4-1 win against Gillingham, Ross gave a transfer update on the pair in an interview with the Sunderland Echo.

When asked about transfer outgoings, Ross said: “I have said that the situation in terms of the outs has always been there. If anything happens it will probably be with the two that haven’t been here.

“The club are pushing and I’d imagine there would be a resolution with that sooner or later, that would be the most imminent thing.” Ross added.

Didier N'Dong warms up during a Sunderland AFC training session at The Academy of Light on January 17, 2018 in Sunderland, England.

Both men spent last season out on loan, with 29-year-old Djilobodji having a stint at French side Dijon and midfielder Ndong spending the second half of last season on the bench at Premier League side Watford.

However, neither player reported back to training for Sunderland’s pre-season campaign ahead of their new season in League One and the Black Cats have made it clear they want to sell the pair.
