Sunderland did not manage to get rid of want-away duo Didier Ndong and Papy Djilobodji this summer.

Sunderland enjoyed an excellent summer transfer window, with Jack Ross making 12 shrewd additions to his League One side.
However, the Black Cats failed to get rid of want-away duo Papy Djilobodji and Didier Ndong and fans on Wearside have been speculative on their futures.
In an interview with the Chronicle, 42-year-old Ross revealed he does not envisage the two players being a part of his future first-team plans.
When speaking about the futures of Djilobodji and Ndong, Ross said: “I haven’t had any interest in them because they’ve never turned up and haven’t been part of what I’ve tried to build here, I don’t ever envisage them being part of that.
“However, that situation becomes more complicated if they come back in and it probably starts to extend beyond my remit as a manager but we’ll deal with that as and when.”

Both men failed to report back for training in pre-season and suggestions have been made the pair would cause disruption to Sunderland’s high morale if they returned to the first-team now.
The Black Cats are currently unbeaten in League One and look poised to challenge for promotion back to the Championship at the first time of asking.
