Sunderland have excellent strength in depth in midfield after making several additions this summer.

Sunderland made 12 shrewd additions to their League One side this summer in a hope of rebuilding for an eventual return to the Premier League.
The Black Cats have bolstered their third tier squad to the point of making it hard for their young players to break into an experienced starting line-up.
And, as young prospect Elliot Embleton departs Wearside to join Grimsby Town on loan, Sunderland fans have taken to social media to react to the news.
Embleton has played one game for the Black Cats so far this campaign, coming against Championship side Sheffield Wednesday in Sunderland’s first-round Carabao Cup exit.
The 19-year-old is a highly rated midfielder and is predicted to have a big future on Wearside in future seasons, but Sunderland’s experienced heads in midfield mean the best idea is for Embleton to gain experience elsewhere.

Ross’s men will be keen to return to the Championship at the first time of asking this term and Sunderland have made a good start in achieving their target, with the Black Cats currently unbeaten.
After a season plying his trade with the Mariners in the fourth tier, Embleton could certainly become a permanent fixture next season for Sunderland.
