Jack Baldwin and Glenn Loovens signed for Sunderland earlier this summer.

Sunderland made 12 additions to their new-look squad for League One earlier this summer, with over half of the players having made an instant impact in the opening five games of the new campaign.
However, most impressive have been the two new central defenders Jack Baldwin and Glenn Loovens, who seemed to have formed a solid partnership in the heart of the Black Cats’ defence.
And 25-year-old Baldwin has praised his defensive partner Loovens for his early season impact in an interview with the Chronicle.
When asked about 34-year-old Loovens, Baldwin said: “Glenn’s brilliant to play alongside, He’s sometimes a bit too calm in possession for me but he’s got the leadership and the knowledge of the game.
“Young Bali (Mumba) has got a lot to learn but he can learn from people like Glenn about positioning and where he wants him – it’s only good for the squad.”

The Sunderland pair have been a feature in Jack Ross’s side since their visit to Kenilworth Road to play Luton Town earlier this month.
And both Baldwin and Loovens have conceded just three goals in four games in the third division campaign when they have played alongside one another.
Loovens came off with a suspected groin injury last week against AFC Wimbledon and Baldwin could be without his teammate for Saturday’s home game against Oxford United.
