Jack Baldwin signed for Sunderland from Peterborough United earlier this summer.

Since Sunderland’s new central defensive signing Jack Baldwin made his debut against Luton in the second game of the League One season, it has been clear to see why Jack Ross signed the player.
The 25-year-old has never played above the third tier level, but has been influential in Sunderland’s unbeaten start in the league so far this term.
Evident from playing in each of Sunderland’s League One matches since their 1-1 draw at Kenilworth Road, Baldwin’s technical ability and his flair on the ball, despite being over six foot, is freakishly impressive.
The former Peterborough man has been an instant hit on Wearside, with his tough tackling and ability to head the ball from dangerous situations, which has often saved Sunderland from conceding.

Baldwin’s most impressive display of the season came against Oxford United last weekend, when Sunderland drew 1-1 and were under pressure for large spells of the game after going down to 10 men.
The Barking-born player’s calmness on the ball in a difficult circumstance was inspirational in earning Sunderland a point against Karl Robinson’s side.
Sunderland fans will be hopeful of seeing the injured Glenn Loovens return to the first-team to partner with Sunderland’s unsung hero of the season once again this term.
