Sunderland return to the Stadium of Light to face Peterborough United in a top of the table clash.

Sunderland return to the Stadium of Light on Tuesday evening to face Steve Evans’ Peterborough United in an all-important League One clash.
Jack Ross’ side were held to a 1-1 draw with Coventry City at the Ricoh Arena last time out and the game this week against their undefeated opponents will be yet another test for the Black Cats.
42-year-old Ross will be forced into making changes on Sunderland’s return to Wearside, after their trip to Coventry ended with three of their key players suffering from injury, as well as one from suspension.
The biggest loss for Sunderland’s second game in four days will be Glenn Loovens, who pulled up in the opening 10 minutes of his sides midday kick-off with a hamstring injury.
Soon to follow Loovens’ departure from the game last weekend was youngster Denver Hume, who picked up a knee injury and was forced to leave the field of play.
Both Bryan Oviedo and Adam Matthews came on in place of the pair and both the Costa Rican and the Welshman are expected to slot straight into full-back this week, with the impressive Tom Flanagan moving into central defence.

Young American Lynden Gooch played on through his hamstring problem when Sunderland had already made three changes and he, as well as the suspended Lee Cattermole, will also miss out.
Aiden McGeady is the likely candidate to replace Gooch on the right, whilst Max Power, who came on last weekend, will also slot straight into midfield in place of the goal-scoring Cattermole.
Below is how we predict Sunderland will line-up in their huge game against Peterborough, with the four enforced changes giving Ross somewhat of a selection headache.
