Newcastle United are without a win in their second season back in the Premier League.

Newcastle’s 2-1 defeat to Premier League Champions Manchester City might’ve been different had they had some of their key injured players available for selection.

Star men Jonjo Shelvey and Matt Ritchie were both unavailable and sidelined through injury, but the Magpies’ upcoming game against Arsenal could see both men return.

United will be looking for their first win of the season to lift them out of the top-flight relegation zone, in front of yet another packed out crowd inside St James’ Park on Saturday afternoon.

Suggestions have been made that Rafa Benitez should play a more attacking formation, but with another top six side in front of them that is unlikely.

Key to Newcastle’s success will be their pressing game, with Unai Emery’s men keen on playing the ball out of defence and often through veteran goalkeeper Petr Cech.

The Magpies might be able to welcome 26-year-old Shelvey back to their side this weekend, with his absence having been evident in Newcastle’s recent games.

One of the most valuable players in Newcastle’s ranks has been goalkeeper Martin Dubravka and the £4m summer signing signing will have to once again be at his best to stop Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.

Below is how we think Newcastle could line up this weekend, with three changes to the side that were beaten at the Etihad Stadium by Manchester City.
