Therefore, the Spaniard must consider starting Brazilian winger Kenedy ahead of the uninspiring Jacob Murphy this weekend to give Newcastle an extra element in attack.
Murphy started ahead of the Brazilian last weekend at St. James’ Park, but the winger failed to make any sort of impact in attack or defence, often getting caught out of position when Arsenal went forward.
Despite a tough start to the his second spell on loan with the Magpies, Kenedy provides much needed flair in wide areas, as well as creativity for Newcastle’s striker.
Benitez has been keen to set up with just one forward this season and, whether that be Joselu or Salomon Rondon, the pair have both struggled, which has a lot to do with the lack of creativity in midfield.
Kenedy would certainly help improve that in an all-important fixture against Roy Hodgson’s Palace this weekend, as proved by his impact on Tyneside last season.
