Newcastle defender DeAndre Yedlin gave Newcastle fans a scare after sustaining an injury against Tottenham Hotspur.

Newcastle fans feared the worst when full-back DeAndre Yedlin sustained an injury to his knee late in the game against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.
However, after what looked like an injury that could keep the American sidelined for several weeks, Newcastle’s official website revealed Yedlin’s injury wasn’t serious and that the 25-year-old could return to training soon.
And the Newcastle faithful have taken to social media to react to the update regarding Yedlin.
The former Sunderland full-back, who linked up with the Toon back in 2016, has made a great impact in his two years on Tyneside and has been a regular fixture in Rafa Benitez’s side.
Yedlin was part of the Newcastle side that stormed the Championship two seasons ago and has made 62 appearances in Newcastle colours, scoring one goal from right-back.

Yedlin’s injury scare came in a tackle with very little contact in stoppage time of Newcastle’s opening game of the 2018/19 season, with the obvious suggestion that the player may have twisted a ligament in his knee.
And with Newcastle already struggling for reinforcements in defence, the Seattle-born man’s injury would’ve came at a bad time for Benitez.
However, the player will return to training with his team-mates this week, but whether Yedlin will feature in Saturday’s big game against Cardiff will remain to be seen.
