Middlesbrough sit joint-top of the Championship table after six games.

Middlesbrough have made an emphatic start to the new season in the Championship, as they sit joint-top of the second division with promotion rivals Leeds United on 14 points.
Both Martin Braithwaite and Britt Assombalonga will rightly receive the plaudits from fans this season after a solid start that has seen the pair score five goals between them.
However, also key to their early season success has been midfielder Jonny Howson, who is an unsung hero on Teeside.
The 30-year-old has been a regular feature in Middlesbrough’s starting line-up this season, starting in each of their six games in the Championship.
And the man who has played over 200 games in the second tier of English football has spearheaded Middlesbrough in both attack and defence this term, with his impressive work ethic and ability to win the ball back in dangerous situations.
Howson’s most memorable performance came in a 1-0 win over promotion rivals West Bromwich Albion, with the player constantly laying balls on a plate to strikers and buzzing around the pitch for the full 90 minutes.

The Morley-born man will be a key part of Boro’s eventual fate, with manager Tony Pulis aiming for promotion back to the Premier League this term, especially after coming so close in the play-offs last time out.
Howson moved from Norwich City to Teeside in 2017 and has made 49 league appearances with the Boro, but his start to this season has been easily his most impressive in Middlesbrough colours.
