Middlesbrough star Adama Traore had been linked with a move away from Teesside all summer and has now joined last season’s Championship winners Wolves.

Middlesbrough have had an interesting summer transfer window in preparation for another season in the Championship, with some shrewd arrivals in the form of Paddy McNair and Aden Flint.

However, an important part of their window was to hold onto one of their best players Adama Traore, but the Teesside club have failed to do that after Premier League side Wolves came in for the Spaniard.

And after the 22-year-old’s move to the newly promoted top-flight side was confirmed by Sky Sports earlier, Middlesborough fans have taken to social media to react to the news.

Traore would’ve been arguably the best bit of transfer business Middlesbrough have done this summer if he had of stayed with Tony Pulis’ side for their Championship campaign.

But after the Midlands side came calling for the highly rated youngster, it was always going to be difficult to hang onto the player who arrived in 2016.

The former Barcelona winger scored five goals in all competitions last season, but impressed with his 10 assists which helped Boro almost achieve their promotion target by reaching the playoffs.

The youngster joins the 99-point Championship title holders on a five-year deal, with a fee believed to be upwards of £18m.

Traore dribbled past his Championship opponents on 267 occasions last season, 132 more times than any other second tier player, highlighting exactly why several clubs were rumoured to have been pursuing the wingers signature.

The signing of Traore from Wolves is on the back of even more shrewd business, with Joao Moutinho and Rui Patricio having both linked up with the side who haven’t featured in the top-flight for six seasons.
