Sunderland signed Max Power from Wigan Athletic this summer.

Sunderland’s Max Power arrived on Wearside this summer and the Birkenhead-born man has been nothing short of excellent since his arrival.
Power’s run in the first-team came to an end in the 1-1 draw with Oxford United, after the midfielder was given a debatable red card for a foul early in the match.
And after Power has been suspended for the past two matches in League One, his absence has proven just important he is to Jack Ross’s side.
Power has bagged two goals since joining Sunderland, but it has been his link-up from deep central midfield which had been impressing the Black Cats faithful prior to being sent off.
The former Wigan man will once again miss out in Sunderland’s game against Rochdale this weekend, but Power will return to the side for their final game of September against Coventry City next week.

Black Cats boss Ross will have a big decision to make as to whether he puts Power straight back in the starting XI when Sunderland travel to the Ricoh Arena next week.
But on the evidence of the 25-year-old’s performances prior to his sending off, Ross might not be able to afford to do anything other than slot Power straight back into the side, even if Sunderland do win against Rochdale.
