Everton boss Marco Silva is on the hunt for quality new recruits this summer and should pay the money to sign compatriot Goncalo Guedes.

Everton are looking to go in a different direction this season after replacing the unpopular Sam Allardyce with Marco Silva.

The Times claims Silva must cut a bloated Everton squad to make money available for reinforcements as the club’s billionaire major shareholder Farhad Moshiri will not be repeating last summer’s transfer splurge.

But with several big earners, including Wayne Rooney, expected to leave Everton will have space and the need for a new hero.

Toffees fans wanted Radja Nainggolan as their star arrival this summer, as previously reported by HITC.com.

However, as one door closes another could have opened for Everton and the perfect answer could come in the shape of Silva’s fellow Portuguese Goncalo Guedes.

The 21-year-old spent last season on loan at Spanish club Valencia where he amassed 27 starts, scoring six goals – and impressed enough to tempt Los Che into pursuing his talents permanently.

PSG are under pressure to sell to meet Financial Fair Play regulations and reports L’Equipe has claimed they want to offload Guedes for anything between £35-70 million – as reported by Get Football News France.

Goncalo Guedes of Valencia CF tackles Lionel Messi of FC Barcelona during the La Liga match between Barcelona and Valencia at Camp Nou on April 14, 2018 in Barcelona, Spain.

His performances so far at the World Cup will have done little to inflate that figure but Silva could get the best out of the skilful and hardworking attacker.

He has a big career ahead of him and is the kind of marquee signing Everton fans expect after losing favourties such as Romelu Lukaku in recent years.

A move for Guedes could be facilitated with a Toffees firesale of the likes of Davy Klaassen, Yannick Bolasie, Rooney and a number of others linked with the Goodison Park exit.
