Johan Djourou wants to cancel his contract with Antalyaspor and return to England so should Leeds give him an option?

The agent of former Arsenal defender Johan Djourou claims his client wants a return to England due to a pay dispute with current club Antalyaspor.
Costa Bonato says that Djourou has not been paid for three months by his Turkish employers and is pleading with FIFA to allow the defender to cancel his deal with the club.

“We have appealed to FIFA to let Johan cancel his contract. There have already been several delays with his salary,” Bonato was quoted by the Sun.
“We made it clear that the situation had to be resolved by the end of the season. However that has not happened.
“Johan wants to move to a club in England, France, Spain or Italy for the sake of his children’s education.”

Where next?
Djourou is no stranger to English football having played 144 times for the Gunners after coming through their academy – as well as a further 13 games for Birmingham City during a loan spell at St Andrew’s.

The 31-year-old almost joined Sheffield Wednesday last summer before moving to Turkey instead, with the Sheffield Star reporting a deal was agreed with former club Hamburg and a medical was completed before the transfer collapsed at the last minute.
So despite his Premier League experience, Djourou was clearly not averse to dropping down into the Championship and that is why Leeds United should perhaps consider the Switzerland international.
They need recruitment in central defence with options in the position limited currently and perhaps this saga is one the Whites should keep a close eye on.
