Divock Origi was the most unlikely of heroes as Liverpool beat Everton 1-0 in Sunday’s Merseyside derby at Anfield.

Everton looked set to win a very hard-fought point against their bitter locals rivals.

But Origi, on his first Premier League appearance for Liverpool this season, headed home a last-gasp winner following Jordan Pickord’s calamitous error.

The Belgian sparked wild celebrations, not least from Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp who stormed the pitch and celebrated with Reds goalkeeper Alisson.

And Origi reacted to his own heroics by posting a photo of the goal on Instagram, along with the caption ‘All glory be to God alone’.

Former Liverpool forward and Belgium international Christian Benteke reacted to the picture by posting a ‘praying’ emoji.

The three points keeps Klopp’s side in the hunt for a first league title since 1990, with the Reds still two points behind top-of-the-table Manchester City.

It’s a slightly easier fixture on Wednesday for Liverpool, who visit a Burnley side who haven’t won a Premier League game in over two months, losing five of their last seven games.
