‘Disrespectful to fans’: Some Aston Villa supporters hit back at Arsenal man’s claim

Aston Villa fans on Twitter weren’t too pleased with Mikel Arteta after he claimed that Arsenal ‘completely dominated the game in every department’ on Saturday, as he told his post-match press conference.

Dean Smith’s side recorded a 1-0 win over the North London club, with Arsenal suffering yet another defeat in the Midlands after that loss in midweek against Wolves.

Whilst controversy overshadowed that loss at Molineux, Arsenal’s defending and inability to create clear cut chances was a problem during their game at Villa Park.

Ollie Watkins opened the scoring inside the opening few minutes, and from then on, Villa kept the away team at bay.

Aston Villa fans made it clear that their team made it count in the right areas, whilst possession doesn’t mean everything.

Villa had 12 shots at Arsenal’s goal, with eight of those efforts on target, whilst the Gunners only managed three shots on goal from their 14 efforts.

This was pointed out by the Villa Park faithful, who were quick to fire back at Arteta’s claim.
