Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to react after Brendan Rodgers distanced himself from replacing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United.

What’s the story?

Well, the 48-year-old was asked about the speculation by Sky Sports, but Celtic fans weren’t happy with his slightly hypocritical answer.

Rodgers said: “I can’t really comment on it because it is something that is not real. I am here as the Leicester City manager, I’m proud to be here, privileged to be here and fully committed to the players, the club, the ownership.”

You may have heard similar comments before – one Celtic fan below certainly has, claiming that the response brought back memories.

Back in 2019, amid talk of him swapping Glasgow for the Midlands, Rodgers shrugged off the speculation and insisted he was fully committed to Celtic (Sky Sports).

Just weeks later, he agreed to take over at the King Power Stadium.

In that respect, Leicester and Manchester United supporters probably shouldn’t take much notice of his comments.

Clearly, his words do not carry much weight.

As of now, Ange Postecoglou seems like a genuine man, who wouldn’t walk out on the Bhoys like Rodgers did.

Under his guidance, Celtic failed to secure ten Scottish Premiership titles in a row, and allowed Rangers to wade their way back in.

That cannot happen again. As well as things are going under Postecoglou, Celtic must already have a replacement in mind, just in case.

For now, let’s see what the Celtic fans on Twitter have been saying about Rodgers…
