Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react after Ian Wright revealed he’d spoken to Alexandre Lacazette following his antics on Match of the Day.

Wright joined Gary Lineker and Dion Dublin in mocking the Frenchman’s screams, after the 1-1 draw with Burnley at Turf Moor.

It was a risky move for a club legend to mock a current player, and the ex-Gunners hitman clearly felt a bit guilty after doing it.

Speaking on his Wrighty’s House podcast, the BBC pundit said: “It wasn’t a problem for Gary Lineker, it wasn’t a problem for Dion Dublin, but at the same time I have to realise what it means for the Arsenal fanbase to feel like one of their own is digging them out.

“I can only say I’m digging out screaming. We’re talking about people who are screaming and get up and play on.

“The main thing was making it right with Lacazette, I’m not bothered about what comes back in terms of digging out about it, but I needed to make sure he was ok with it, and he was.”

Despite getting in touch with Lacazette to apologise, some Arsenal fans still aren’t very happy with Wright for what he did.

One supporter said they couldn’t care less after hearing the 57-year-old’s apology, while another argued that he should’ve protected Lacazette instead of joining the pile-on.

In our view, it really isn’t that big of a deal to still hold a grudge.

As Wright said on his podcast, he was more focused on making fun of dramatic screaming in general, rather than anything personal aimed at Lacazette.

He did what he did, and he’s now apologised to the £46.5 million striker in case any offence was taken.

As far as we’re concerned, the whole situation is now water under the bridge.

However, some Arsenal fans still don’t see it that way.

Let’s take a look at what they’ve been saying…
