Speaking on his YouTube channel, Rio Ferdinand has been discussing Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and his decision to not make a single substitution against Manchester United this weekend.
Guardiola has been involved in some tough Manchester derbies during his time in the Premier League, but on Saturday morning, his City side brushed the Red Devils aside at an absolute canter.
City barely got out of second gear, and Guardiola didn’t feel the need to make a single sub at the weekend.

Ferdinand believes that Guardiola was almost mocking United at the weekend by not turning to his bench.
“That was a full-on mockery of Man United, he’s mocking us. Normally teams are needing to make subs and having to work things out against you, but it says that we find it easy against you and that you ain’t a threat. It’s almost as big a disrespect as you can get, you lot can just sit down and chill and my 11 will just deal with you lot,” Ferdinand said.

Ferdinand says that Guardiola was mocking United by not making a sub, but why would he make a change when it’s not needed?
His team were able to beat United with ease, and it’s hard to point towards where a sub was needed.
Guardiola’s sides are well-oiled machines and if he felt as though that was the best 11 available to him, why would he change it if he wasn’t under any sort of pressure?
Guardiola wasn’t mocking Ole Gunnar Solskjaer or Manchester United, the Red Devils simply made it too easy for him and his team.
