Jose Mourinho is treading a fine line with Tottenham Hotspur fans right now and it’s fair to say that hugging John Terry may not have been the wisest move by the Spurs manager at full-time.

Terry still remains a rather unpopular figure at Tottenham, after his years representing Chelsea.

And even though Mourinho and Terry have a strong relationship, the sight of their manager hugging such a rival of the club has not gone down well with Spurs fans.

The reaction may stem from the fact that the pressure is on Mourinho right now.

The Spurs boss will have been very relieved at full-time yesterday though, as his side came through a tough challenge against Aston Villa.

Tottenham picked up a 2-0 win to at least lift some of the gloom that was forming around the club, after a disastrous Europa League exit in midweek.

Spurs seemed to grow in confidence as the game progressed and by full-time they were well on top.

If Mourinho can keep this winning momentum up, he may find Spurs fans become slightly more forgiving of his actions.

But, for now, he must continued to turn the doubters into believers, with question marks still lingering over his future, despite last night’s positive result.
