Leeds United’s season ended with a 1-1 draw at Wigan Athletic this afternoon – but left back Charlie Taylor has dominated the post-match discussion.
The Whites needed a win, a Fulham defeat and an almost impossible goal swing in order to break into the Championship play-offs, but none of those things happened.
Leeds could only draw 1-1 at the DW Stadium, as Ryan Tunnicliffe put hosts Wigan in front before Chris Wood equalised with a second half penalty, whilst Fulham beat Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 at Hillsborough.
Leeds finish the season in seventh place, but most of the post-match discussion has surrounded left back Charlie Taylor, after the Leeds star refused to play for the Whites this afternoon.

Taylor, 23, has come up through the ranks at Elland Road, and has made over 100 appearances for the club all competitions, but his future lies away from the club given that his contract expires this summer.
The trip to Wigan was seen as Taylor’s final game for Leeds before he presumably heads to the Premier League this summer, but he pulled out of the game by telling manager Garry Monk that he wouldn’t be playing.

Leeds fans have unsurprisingly been left infuriated by Taylor’s refusal to play for the club, claiming his decision is ‘disgusting and disrespectful’ to a club who have done so much for his career to date.
Whilst some claim that Taylor has been badly advised by his agent, that excuse isn’t washing with the majority of Leeds fans, who note that Taylor is a grown man who must be held responsible for his actions, with hints that he wouldn’t be welcome back in the future after refusing to play.
