Some Arsenal fans on Twitter aren’t happy about a rumour regarding Eddie Nketiah.
According to The Mirror, the 22-year-old striker is interesting Watford and Arsenal are planning to accept a £15 million sum if it’s offered.
HITC Sport wrote this morning that such a figure represents a bargain for Nketiah.
That’s because he is barely a squad player with only one year left to go on his contract at the Emirates Stadium.
But some fans of the North London club believe Edu – the team’s technical director – should be holding out for a larger sum.
Here’s what they’re saying on Twitter:
Another Brewster?
Nketiah is a decent striker but he’s still unproven in the Premier League, it has to be said.
Quite a few Arsenal fans pointed to the fact that Liverpool got upwards of £24 million for Rhian Brewster who was also untested in England’s top flight and hadn’t even played in it prior to joining Sheffield United last summer.
Difference is, Brewster was arguably a bigger prospect than Nketiah and crucially, he didn’t only have one year left on his contract like the Arsenal hitman does.
That’s the bit that supporters need to remember and therefore it would be an excellent piece of business if the North Londoners sell for £15 million.
