Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react after Fabrizio Romano revealed that Ibrahima Konaté is close to joining Liverpool.

Why does this concern Tottenham?

Well, the north Londoners were also believed to be keen on the Frenchman, according to The Telegraph.

Sadly for Ryan Mason’s side, they look set to miss out as Jürgen Klopp’s men close in on the 21-year-old colossus.

The deal will cost Liverpool €35 million (£30.5 million), and Konaté has already agreed personal terms on a five-year contract.

It’s an expensive deal, but Spurs will surely be gutted to lose out.

The RB Leipzig No.6 is a huge prospect, who already has plenty of Champions League experience under his belt despite his age.

He could be part of Liverpool’s backline for the next decade, which actually makes the £30.5 million fee seem reasonable when put into that context.

We guess it’s back to the drawing board for Tottenham.

Other centre-back targets of theirs include Sergio Ramos, who Real Madrid expect to leave this summer according to Hora 25 Deportes journalist Jesús Gallego.

Tottenham are also interested in a move for Brighton’s Ben White, according to Sky Sports.

It remains to be seen who they get, but by the looks of it, they won’t be signing Konaté.

Let’s see how the Tottenham fans on Twitter reacted to Romano’s revelation…
