Arsenal fans have been left fuming after witnessing an incident between Ben Chilwell and Daniel Podence in Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat to Wolves yesterday.
The England international could be seen grabbing the Portuguese forward’s throat during an altercation between the pair at Molineux last night.
After VAR checked the incident, Chilwell escaped without receiving a red card.
Why has this infuriated Arsenal fans, you might ask?
Well, the Gunners saw Granit Xhaka dismissed for doing something very, very similar to Ashley Westwood on Sunday evening.

The Switzerland international grabbed the Burnley midfielder’s neck, only for VAR to step in and change the original decision to a red card from a yellow card.
It was the right decision to send Xhaka off. However, the lack of consistency in the Premier League’s officiating is what will surely anger Arsenal supporters.
If the former Borussia Monchengladbach powerhouse was sent off, then Chilwell should’ve been to – it’s that simple.

In the days of VAR, inconsistencies like this shouldn’t be happening.
Fortunately for Wolves, they still managed to win the game despite Chilwell remaining on the pitch, thanks to Pedro Neto’s last-gasp strike.
Let’s see what the furious Arsenal fans on Twitter have been saying about the incident…
