Jesse Lingard stated on Instagram that he is ‘disappointed not to take three points during West Ham’s 3-3 thriller against Arsenal on Sunday.
Another game. And another goal for the new West Ham hero, who has looked like a completely different player since making that loan switch from Manchester United in January.
Whilst many backed Lingard to get back to his best, perhaps many didn’t think he would have such an instant impact and play like he hadn’t actually been out of the wilderness during these past few years.
It was Lingard’s thumping effort that opened the scoring for the Hammers before his quick thinking set off Jarrod Bowen for his side’s second.
And after the game, this is the pretty honest message Lingard put out on Instagram about Sunday’s performance and where the club is heading.
Champions League football or no Champions League football, one thing, is for sure, Lingard has had one hell of an impact on this thriving West Ham side.
Many of their supporters will be hoping they can snap him up on a permanent basis, but a lot of that will depend on what those at Old Trafford will want to do.
If they are happy to move him on then there’s no doubt that the London Stadium will be his first destination once again, but until then, they will be enjoying his presence in the side.
