Leeds have reportedly scouted Norwegian teen Abdul Basit Agouda.
Thomas Christiansen’s Leeds were reported as being interested in the 18-year-old attacker on the Scouts in Attendance Twitter account on Friday, after watching Agouda represent Norway’s Under-18 side on Wednesday.
Agouda has already revealed that he will not be signing a new contract with the Norwegian giants, as he is frustrated over a lack of game time. That has thrown his immediate future into doubt, with his current deal expiring in December.
Now, his side’s sporting director Flo has failed to rule out a move away from Norway for the 12-time Norway Under-18 international, stating that he cannot comment on Agouda’s situation.
“As usual, I can’t comment on a player’s situation,” Flo said. “The fact is that he’s had offers throughout the year. I can’t speculate before anything happens.”
With just over a month to run on his contract, Agouda’s time at Stromsgodset is surely up and Leeds could see Flo’s comments as a huge boost if they are indeed looking to sign the speed machine.
Making four senior appearances for the two-time Norwegian League winners, Agouda has found the back of the net on two occasions, immediately attracting the interest of Yorkshire giants Leeds.
Now, Agouda could be the latest signing completed by director of football Victor Orta, if Flo’s comments are anything to go by.
