Does Liverpool-linked Timo Werner have a club in mind that he wants to join? Potentially.
The Reds have been heavily linked with a move for the Leipzig striker in recent years but this speculation has intensified in a big way over the past couple of months.
Despite the rumour mill churning out a lot of Liverpool-related content in regards to Werner, no offer has been tabled.
Inter Milan have also been linked, but the Italian club won’t be bringing him to San Siro.
Inter’s Director of Football Piero Ausilio confirmed to Sky Sports that he isn’t going to be signing for the Serie A giants – and hinted that Werner has designs on joining somebody else.
He said: “Timo Werner will not come to Inter. I know his thoughts about his future and we’ll not sign him.”
Ausilo also added that he ‘loved’ the 24-year-old as a player, which suggests Inter were interested and maybe, just maybe, a move to Italy won’t materialise because he genuinely does want a move to Liverpool.
That has certainly been reported, but Ausilo’s comment that he knows Werner’s ‘thoughts about his future’ may possibly indicate that the German has his heart set on another team.
Whether that’s Jurgen Klopp’s side, however, remains to be seen.
