Frosinone’s sporting director thinks Matias Soule will stay beyond January but he is aware of Premier League interest as Newcastle United and Crystal Palace target the Juventus loanee.
Tuesday’s stunning 4-0 Coppa Italia win away from home at Serie A champions Napoli looks even more impressive when you consider that Frosinone lined up without their star performer, Matias Soule only coming off the bench for the final 20 minutes at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
Soule, the 20-year-old Argentine, has produced a series of performances his fellow Argentine would have been proud of recently, scoring six goals in just 14 starts since joining Frosinone on loan over the summer.
And with Juventus reportedly open to offers – the Bianconeri want to raise funds for a bid for Atalanta midfielder Teun Koopmeiners – that is all the motivation Newcastle and Crystal Palace need. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, both clubs have held discussions with Juve chief Cristiano Guintoli.

Crystal Palace and Newcastle United eye Matias Soule
Palace are reportedly offering £30 million. A fee that would see Soule replace Christian Benteke as the most expensive signing in The Eagles’ history.
Guido Angelozzi, Frosinone’s sporting director, is certainly aware of interest from England’s top flight. But, after Juventus boss Giovanni Manna played down suggestions that Soule could be sold in January, Angelozzi is losing no sleep over the future of his twinkle-toed winger.
“Juve has important bosses. They know what to do. I say that he will become an important player, but I don’t know if he will play at Juve or elsewhere,” Angelozzi tells Tuttomercatoweb.
“There are many English clubs that follow him. Every week, many Premier League clubs follow him. He’s a player who will become a top player.
“I think (he will stay beyond January). he is currently with Frosinone, and so we don’t think about it. We have very good relations with Juve. We try to do the best for the boy and therefore for Juve.”
Juvntus loanee is a ‘top player’
Soule idolises Lionel Messi. Like the Ballon D’Or winner – and Crystal Palace whizzkid Michael Olise for that matter – Soule is at his most effective when cutting in from the right onto his left boot.
