Victor Nelsson appears to have his heart set on leaving Turkish champions Galatasaray as Premier League outfit Fulham reportedly line up a potential £13 million January deal.

Speaking to Fanatik about the future of his Denmark international centre-half, Galatasaray’s deputy chairman Erden Timur confirms that Victor Nelsson has little interest in extending a contract which now has less than two years left to run.

And this could be music to Fulham’s ears.

The Cottagers are keen on the highly-rated Nelsson, per Takvim, and his contract situation could force Galatasaray to consider relatively low-ball bids, perhaps in the region of £13 million.

Fulham target Victor Nelsson wants Galatasaray exit

“We talked to Nelson,” Timur clarifies. “His current idea is not to extend the contract. However, he has a contract for two more years.”

Nelsson’s stance has only been strengthened by the fact he has lost his place in Ismail Kartal’s starting XI since the arrival of Davinson Sanchez from Fulham’s London neighbours Tottenham Hotspur back in September.

Every football player wants to play. It is a good thing not to accept being a substitute,” Timur adds. “His current idea is not to extend the contract.”

Nelsson, a talented, right-sided centre-half who recently helped Galatasaray claim a famous Champions League win away at Manchester United, may be viewed at Fulham as a replacement for Tosin Adarabioyo.

Adarabioyo looks destined to depart in 2024, after all, his deal up in just 10 months.

Fulham also want a striker

“There has been interest and offers from clubs that I really want to join. I’d have liked to have moved,” Nelsson told Danish publication Tipsbladet recently. “I’ve had some talks with them.

“I informed (Galatasaray) after the last international break that I don’t want to extend my contract. I have three years left on my contract, and I just can’t see myself extending another year.”

Fulham are also in the market for a striker capable of filling Aleksandr Mitrovic’s boat-sized shoes, with Stuttgart’s Bundesliga record-breaker Serhou Guirassy and Gent ‘phenomenon’ Gift Orban among the potential candidates.
