The Wolverhampton Wanderers youngster and Molineux academy graduate was handed his full debut by Nuno Espirito Santo last night.

Wolverhampton Wanderers academy graduate Dion Sanderson has taken to Twitter with a heartfelt message following his side’s EFL Cup clash at Aston Villa on Wednesday night.
The 19-year-old defender and Molineux academy graduate was one of three youngsters handed full debuts on the night by Nuno Espirito Santo, along with 18-year-old midfielder Taylor Perry and 16-year-old forward Chem Campbell (The Guardian).
Sanderson put in a solid display for Wolves after overcoming a slightly nervous start, and more than held his own against Egypt international Trezeguet.
In the end it wasn’t to be for Wanderers as the more experienced Villans claimed a 2-1 victory on home turf and, after the game, Sanderson praised his teammates and the fanbase for their support.
A number of fans – plus academy teammate Benny Ashley-Seal – took the time to respond, congratulating him and his fellow youngsters for their efforts on the night:
Sanderson was impressive at centre-back and right wing-back for the Under-23s during 2018-19 as Wolves won the Premier League 2 Division 2 title, and in the summer, the club announced on their official website that he signed a new contract which tied him to Molineux until the summer of 2021.
