Everton are interested in signing Diogo Dalot from Manchester United in the summer transfer window, according to The Athletic.

It has been reported that United right-back Dalot was on the shortlist of players that Everton were looking at last summer.

The Toffees did not make a formal bid.

The 22-year-old Portugal international right-back reportedly ‘remains a player of interest’.

Everton are also interested in PSV right-back Denzel Dumfries.

Diogo Dalot to Everton?

Dalot has been on the books of United since 2018 when he joined from FC Porto for £19 million, as reported by BBC Sport at the time.

Jose Mourinho was in charge of United at the time.

The Portugal international has failed to establish himself as a regular in the first team at the Red Devils.

The 22-year-old spent the 2020-21 season on loan at AC Milan.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is the clear first-choice right-back at United, while Brandon Wiliams is his back-up.

Of course, United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would want a strong and big squad for next season.

After all, the Red Devils will be aiming to win the Premier League and the Champions League next season.

However, a good offer from Everton could see them get Dalot, especially if the player can be persuaded that a move to Goodison Park would see him play more.
