Dimitri Payet took to Instagram in the wake of France’s victory over the Netherlands in their World Cup qualifier on Monday night, and seemingly sent a message to his teammates and fans at West Ham in the process.
While he did not get on the scoresheet in Amsterdam – though he did technically bag the assist for Paul Pogba’s long-range effort – he was sensational in the 1-0 win and arguably deserved to be considered man of the match for Didier Deschamps’ men.
The victory proved to be an important one for Les Bleus as it sent them to the top of their World Cup qualifying group after three games.
However, after that high, he must now switch his attention back to his club side as they look to get their season properly off and running.

Slaven Bilic’s men have endured a nightmare start to the campaign. Their victory over Bournemouth remains their only league win of the season, leaving them in the relegation zone.
But with the Hammers just five points off the top-half of the table, they will know that all it will take is a couple of positive results to build some momentum.

And Payet appears to be aware of that fact as following France’s win, he was one of several players to post a photo of the team celebrating their victory in the dressing room. And as well as tagging West Ham, he captioned the image with the very simple message: ‘Together we are better’.
