Olympique Marseille’s latest recruit Payet attends a news conference in Marseille
Former West Ham United superstar Dimitri Payet has been praising the recent performance of Tottenham Hotspur loanee Clinton N’Jie at Marseille to La Provence.
This summer Spurs were embroiled in a long-protracted transfer deal to sign Georges-Kevin N’Koudou from Marseille. Much of the delay stemmed from the idea of loaning the Cameroonian to the Stade Velodrome.
Tottenham Hotspur snapped him up in the summer of 2015 from Olympique Lyonnais in a deal worth around £12 million, according to the Telegraph. But he struggled to have any impact for Spurs in his debut season with the club.
He has however found some form after initial struggles. He has just helped the Indomitable Lions to an African Cup of Nations victory and scored in the recent Marseille triumph v Rennes.

Speaking about that performance Payet had this to say about the Spurs loanee:
“We worked very well in the week and made sure that Clinton was in the best conditions to fulfil the striker role.
“He did very well after he scored.”
Tottenham fans never got to see the best of N’Jie at White Hart Lane and it remains unclear what his best position is, out wide or through the middle.
But if he can put in a few more performances like this then Tottenham will no doubt consider giving him another chance at the club.
