Tottenham Hotspur became the first Premier League side in history to fail to sign a new player in the summer transfer window.
Dimitar Berbatov has told BetFair that Tottenham Hotspur didn’t need to sign anybody this summer.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has faced great criticism over his failure to bring one new player to the club this summer.
Tottenham became the first side since the invention of the transfer window in 2003 to fail to make a new signing.
But Berbatov insists that Spurs simply didn’t need to add any quality to their starting line-up, as it is already so strong.
And the Bulgarian believes that Spurs will coast past newly promoted Fulham this weekend.
“I know Tottenham didn’t sign anyone in the transfer window but they didn’t need to, they have such a good team as it is,” Berbatov said.
“They will be confident after winning at Newcastle on the opening weekend, and I expect them to get another three points on the board.”
Spurs looked impressive on opening day weekend, as they beat Newcastle United 2-1.
Although Mauricio Pochettino’s side are yet to reach full speed, they reminded everyone of just how much quality they already have in their squad last weekend.
Fulham, meanwhile, were beaten 2-0 at home by Crystal Palace and will travel to Wembley under no illusions over how tough things could be for them.
