Mat Ryan has named Cedric Soares among the players at Arsenal with the hardest shots to save in a question and answer session conducted on Twitch.

Ryan was asked which Arsenal player has the most powerful shot – and his answer was rather predictable for the most part.

Lacazette, Pierre Aubameyang and David Luiz’s names all cropped up, rather unsurprisingly, but Cedric’s inclusion did come as more of a shock.

He said: “Laca and Auba, they both are quite difficult to stop.

“I remember when I was playing against Arsenal for the first time, when I was playing for Brighton, Laca in the first couple of minutes hit this shot and it hit the post. He shot from 25 yards and it went like a rocket.

“I’d say those two and also I’ve had a bit of a battle with Cedric as well. He can hit the ball!

“David Luiz as well, in training he likes to have a pop from distance and he can make the ball float and move in different directions.”

Cedric actually hasn’t been used very often by Mikel Arteta towards the back end of the campaign.

The Portuguese full-back seems to have slipped down the pecking order through very little fault of his own.

Cedric has generally been reliable cover for Arsenal, but the likes of Calum Chambers and Granit Xhaka have both been preferred to him in the full-back positions of late.

Luiz, meanwhile, is set to leave Arsenal in the summer.

The Brazilian’s contract expires at the end of the season, meaning he may well play for the Gunners for the very last time on Sunday, when they take on Brighton & Hove Albion.
