Alisson admits he finds it ‘difficult to say’ if the current Liverpool side is the finest group of players Jurgen Klopp has assembled during the German’s seven years in charge at Anfield.
The Reds hired Klopp in October 2015 after sacking Brendan Rodgers with the Merseyside outfit 10th in the Premier League. He had led Liverpool to a title challenge in 2013/14, but the Northern Irishman was unable to maintain their presence at the top of the standings.
Klopp has since led Liverpool to top-four finishes in each of his full seasons at the helm and only once dropped out of the top two in the last four terms. The Reds also lifted a first top-flight title in 30 years in 2019/20 with a whopping 99 points after 32 wins and three draws.

Liverpool are again in the mix with Manchester City for the top-flight title this term with 73 points in 31 games so far. They will also look to reach a third Champions League semi-final in five seasons when the Reds host Benfica on Wednesday with a 3-1 first-leg advantage.
Following that, Klopp, Alisson and Liverpool face Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley as part of their quadruple challenge, having clinched the Carabao Cup already.
Alisson finds it ‘difficult to say’ if current Liverpool squad is Klopp’s best
Klopp is in awe of the players he has at Liverpool in Alisson et al, ahead of hosting Benfica. The German even ranks the current group of stars at Anfield as his best bunch as they have had time to gel, grow together and – as often has not been the case – are now staying fit.
“Yes. Since I’m here, we’ve always had great teams. I love them all,” Klopp said, via quotes by the Liverpool Echo. “But now, we have a bigger squad, high quality, all fit for the first time, more experienced. We know more about each other. It’s the strongest.”

Alisson, though, is not as certain as Klopp that the current Liverpool squad is his best ever. But the Brazilian has no issue with siding with his manager’s stance if that is what he feels.
“If Klopp said so,” Alisson replied, via quotes by TuttoMercatoWEB. “The team has great quality. When we won the Champions League, we did very well. It’s difficult to say, but if the coach said so, it will be the truth.”
