Leeds United host Aston Villa in the Championship on Friday night.
Leeds United will be hoping to make it three wins in four games on Frida night when they take on Aston Villa at Elland Road.
The Whites picked up wins over Middlesbrough and Barnsley either side of a defeat at Wolverhampton Wanderers, with Thomas Christiansen now hoping that his side have turned the corner after a tricky run of form.
They face a tough challenge on Friday night though, as they host Aston Villa at Elland Road, with Steve Bruce visiting Elland Road once again.
A former Manchester United defender, Bruce is no stranger to Leeds’ famous home, and he will be hoping for a better night than in his last trip to Elland Road.
Bruce’s Villa side lost 2-0 at Elland Road last season, and after the game, he told the club’s official website that he feels things can get ‘difficult’ when the home crowd get behind Leeds.
“I think they had a break, we’ve made mistake and they’ve scored. It’s a poor goal from our point of view,” said Bruce. “That gives everybody a lift of course. When the crowd get behind them as they do here, then it becomes difficult,” he added.
Despite their famous fans, Leeds’ home form this season hasn’t been quite so stellar this season, winning four times and drawing twice, as well as losing to Reading, Derby County and Sheffield United.
Bruce will be hoping to make it four home defeats for Leeds this season, especially given Villa’s fine form of their own of late, which has recently featured away wins at QPR and Preston.
If the Leeds fans can generate the atmosphere that Bruce feels makes games ‘difficult’ for visiting sides, then Christiansen’s men could snatch all three points and boost their own promotion hopes.
