Gary Lineker has said on Match of The Day on BBC One (10:36pm, August 6, 2022) that Liverpool central defender Virgil van Dijk struggled against Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.
The former Tottenham Hotspur and Everton striker has noted that Liverpool star Van Dijk really struggled against Fulham star Mitrovic at Craven Cottage in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The former Newcastle United striker scored both goals for the Cottagers in London.
The Premier League game between Fulham and Liverpool ended in a 2-2 draw.

Lineker said on Match of The Day on BBC One (10:36pm, August 6, 2022): “There are not many players that give Virgil van Dijk a difficult time, but Aleksandar Mitrovic certainly did.”
Disappointing
In our opinion, Liverpool struggled against Fulham and their performance was disappointing.
Virgil van Dijk, like a few of his Liverpool teammates, did not have the best of games at Craven Cottage in London.
However, we do not think that Liverpool fans should be too concerned.
After all, it was only the first Premier League game of the season.
It can take players a few games to get back into the rhythm.
Fulham were arguably the better of the two sides over the course of the 90 minutes, but Liverpool still managed to eke out a point.
That shows how good Liverpool are even when they are not at their best.
