Carlo Ancelotti has admitted to BBC Sport that Everton’s Allan may not be able to feature on Thursday, when the Toffees take on West Bromwich Albion.
Allan returned from injury for Everton last night and the £21 million man (BBC Sport) put in an impressive display in the centre of their midfield.
The Toffees weren’t at their best, but Allan marshalled the centre of the pitch well, as Everton picked up a 1-0 win over Southampton.
Ancelotti’s men can now climb into the top four spots on Thursday with a victory, which makes their game against West Brom look like a huge one.
However, Ancelotti may not be able to pick a full strength side in midweek, due to some fitness concerns.
“We have time to recover for Thursday. Allan was back after two months, we have to take care of this, it might be more difficult for him,” he said. “We have to check on James, Seamus Coleman and Tom Davies for Thursday.”

If Everton are without both Allan and Tom Davies it will be a blow to their midfield, as they are the two most naturally combative options they have in their squad.
Everton will still surely be confident of victory, even with players sidelined though.
West Brom have struggled this season and, despite a recent run of three games without defeat, Sam Allardyce’s men remain a fair distance from safety.
