Former Everton full back Michael Ball has taken to Twitter after the Toffees endured transfer heartbreak on deadline day.
The Toffees did end deadline day with two new signings, as highly-rated young striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin arrived from Sheffield United, whilst a late loan move was completed for West Ham United forward Enner Valencia too.

However, the day will largely be remembered for Everton missing out on signing Moussa Sissoko from Newcastle, as they lost out to Tottenham in dramatic fashion.
Sky Sports reported that Everton had agreed a £30m deal with Newcastle to snap up French international midfielder Sissoko, with Ronald Koeman moving to try and make him the club’s record signing.

It’s believed that Everton were then unable to contact Sissoko ahead of a medical, and he even snubbed phone calls from manager Koeman before telling the club he was heading to Tottenham at the last minute instead.
Factor in that Everton had their bid hijacked for Deportivo La Coruna striker Lucas Perez by Arsenal (Liverpool Echo) and had an offer rejected for Porto winger Yacine Brahimi on deadline day (The Mirror), it turned out to be a disappointing end to the transfer window for Toffees fans.

Strong business was done earlier in the summer with the signings of Maarten Stekelenburg, Ashley Williams, Idrissa Gueye and Yannick Bolasie, but having expected more big-name signings thanks to the investment of Farhad Moshiri, some supporters have been left frustrated – and ex-player Michael Ball has had his say.
The former left back took to Twitter to state that Everton didn’t like up to their promise of spending, and having sold John Stones to Manchester City as well, he feels it’s a case of ‘different owner, same old problems’, admitting he was ‘fuming’ with the club’s transfer activity.
