Speaking on Stadium Astro, Heung-Min Son has been discussing the differences between Mauricio Pochettino and Antonio Conte at Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs have been blessed with two of the best managers of a generation in recent years with Pochettino and Conte both taking charge of the north London outfit recently, and Son is one of a few who were lucky enough to play under both gaffers.
According to Son, the biggest difference between the two managers is how they want their teams to press, stating that Conte’s press is more compact.
What’s been said?
Son spoke about the two managers.
“Pochettino was also different with a different press and it’s hard to explain because of the details, footballers know what is going on. Antonio Conte has a mind of the press, but there’s more compactness for me, which is really important. Everyone presses together, everyone has to be together and in these details every manager is different, but I’m learning with joy because this manager is giving so much detail and so much improvement, it’s just incredible,” Son said.

Great to hear
Conte and Pochettino have differing styles, that’s clear for all to see, but what is truly great to hear is that Son is enjoying his development under this manager.
Indeed, the South Korean says he’s learning with joy, and that’s exactly what you want to hear from a star player when a new manager comes in.
The Antonio Conte revolution hasn’t quite clicked into gear at Tottenham yet, but it seems as though the Italian is well on his way to helping this club once again rise up the Premier League ranks.
