Freddie Ljungberg has stated that Mo Salah was ‘different class’ as Liverpool breezed past Ajax 3-0 in the Champions League on Tuesday night, as he told CBS Sports on Paramount+ (26/10/22 at 8:55 pm).
Liverpool had to withstand a lot of pressure during that first period, and in truth, Ajax will still be wondering how they didn’t score a few.
But the elite teams punish you and that’s what Jurgen Klopp’s side did when Jordan Henderson, down the left flank, played a quite brilliant through ball with the outside of his right boot to the on-rushing Salah, who was on the edge of the box, had acres of space around him with the goalkeeper rushing out, before playing a brilliant first-time dink to open the scoring.

Liverpool then proceeded to punish the Dutch champions further, with Darwin Nunez getting on the scoresheet again with another header following a corner.
Before Salah turned provider when his lovely-weighted through ball found Harvey Elliott, who riffled his effort into the roof of the net, and within five minutes of the restart, the game was dead and buried.
Nonetheless, Arsenal legend Ljungberg produced many magical moments during his playing days and he liked what he saw from Salah last night.
“Henderson plays a lovely ball there, then the technique and the calmness to do that from Salah,” said Ljungberg. “It’s different class, I would say.”

UP AND DOWN LIVERPOOL
This was a pressure cooker of a game for Liverpool because, on the road this season, aside from their trip to Glasgow where they thrashed Rangers, they have been beyond abject.
After beating Manchester City, many thought it was the team turning the corner, only for a defeat at bottom-of-the-table Nottingham Forest then making matters worse.
But those lows of Forest are now met with the highs of yesterday’s win, as they face another struggling Premier League side on Saturday.
The Merseyside club have been very strong on home soil this season, so Leeds United, who haven’t won since August, might just be on the end of a hiding if Salah gets his way.
